Scarborough College is celebrating the sporting achievements of six of its pupils, who have had regional and national success.

Four girls have earned under-15 England Hockey Performance Centre Squad places, after successful trials in Doncaster.

Beth Hiley, Isabella Holdsworth, Lucy Barker and Kate Barker have all previously played for the college and North Yorkshire, as well as Leeds and York Hockey Clubs.

They're following in the footsteps of Eve Naylor, who has already taken part in the Performance Centre programme, and will now be taking part in The Diploma of Sporting Excellence programme.

She will now attend four national camps, developing on and off-pitch tactical skills, all while completing sixth-form studies at Scarborough College.

Eve Naylor will attend national hockey camps alongside her sixth form studies.

Finally, Jack Lucas has earned a place in the Team North East boys' squad, and will be involved in the team in the upcoming National Boys' Festival.

He's also been playing host to his regional team-mates, as they've made use of the College for training and matches.

Mr Cunningham, Director of Sport at the College, said: ''These are outstanding achievements and everybody at Scarborough College are very proud of these pupils.

"'All have of whom have demonstrated dedication over a number of years and are great ambassadors to Scarborough College".
