Volunteers across North Yorkshire are coming together to provide Christmas meals to anyone in need.

In Scarborough Maya's Club, Big Maya's Jerk and the Rainbow Centre are hosting at the Methodist Church.

It's the second time they've held their Meal for Meal initiative.

Organisers say it'll offer a welcoming and inclusive space for those facing food insecurity, isolation, or financial challenges, bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate the season together

Maya alongside other volunteers will be cooking a traditional Christmas menu with an Afro-Caribbean twist.

Maya tells us: "Christmas is a time of connection and giving and we are excited to be bringing the Meal for Meal initative back for a second year."

"After the success of last years event we are thrilled to partner again with the Rainbow Centre to make this years celebration even more meaningful for those in need."

"As a previous client of the Rainbow Centre, I am especially grateful to be in a position now that I can give back to a community that supported me."

"Our goal is to spread love, warmth and joy to the Scarborough community - no one should left behind during the holidays."

The meal will take place on December 25th, from 12 pm ( Midday) to 3:00 PM at Methodist Church, YO11 1TS. You can find out more here
