Scarborough Business Leader Supports Hospitality Curfew
Chairman of the South Bay Traders' Association, John Senior, says he's not opposed to the 10pm closure rule to be announced by the Primer Minister.
A Scarborough business leader says he's not averse to new measures to be announced later, restricting the opening times of pubs, bars and restaurants.
In an address to the nation later, Prime Minister Boris Johnson will announce they must close by 10pm every night from Thursday.
It's an attempt to slow the spread of coronavirus.
People will also be encouraged to work from home again wherever possible.
Yesterday, two top scientists delivered a briefing from Downing Street, saying we're heading in 'the wrong direction' with a rise in the number of new infections.
Chairman of the South Bay Traders' Association, John Senior, said:
"I kind of support this, but I think there will be more to come.
We have to really understand who is at threat of this disease and how we manage that best, because it's going to be with us until we get a vaccine, which is going to be be five to six or seven months perhaps.
So we really do need to learn to live with this disease and perhaps manage it better.
Test and Trace, for me, is the key".
