Scalby Fair attracts visitors from outside Scarborough say organisers
It's in its 46th year

Scalby is being put on the map more as a place to visit near Scarborough, thanks to an annual event.
This June, a week-long Fair will take place which has been on-going in the village since 1977.
Michael Whiteley, one of the organisers, said: "Gradually over the years we've had more and more events that have sprung up from the Fair. Now we have a whole eight days of events. It's popular and last year we had a very good day with lots and lots of people from Scarborough, people on holiday and people who came for the Fair especially.
"I tried to have a meeting in the Yew Tree, which is a really nice cafe in Scalby, and there was one table that was empty with a big 'reserved' sign on it and that was like Tuesday morning. It's a nice area, we like to show it off and we want people to come and enjoy it.
"It's a destination that certainly local people and people visiting are aware of. It's a really attractive village and there's quite a bit happening now. The Temperance Hall now has businesses in it, upstairs there's a meeting room which is now being used for folk nights and other activities."
