Yorkshire Water will carry out essential sewer repairs in Whitby this week.

The company says due to the complex nature of the work and the depth of the excavation, it will require a full road closure on Skinner Street, while it undertakes the work.

Work starts today and there will be a diversion route in place, while the work is in progress.

Customer engagement manager at Yorkshire Water, Tracy Wilks, said:

“Our team will be working in the road for about a week, in order to repair part of the sewer network. We’d like to thank our customers in advance for their understanding and patience whilst we carry out the essential repairs.”
