More support is being promised for victims of stalking across North Yorkshire.

Our police force say they are giving more training to officers after an increase in the number of reports of the crime.

Fiona Wynne is in charge of safeguarding for North Yorkshire Police and says perpetrators are becoming more sophisticated and using tech to track their victims "wireless connections, nanny cams, Bluetooth toys are all ways that they can utilise equipment."

The force is also encouraging anyone who might be worried to get in touch with them. "If they've got an ex partner who continues to bother them, when they've repeatedly told that person not to bother them, or they're suspicious about people on their social media who say one thing and it doesn't quite add up, or they know more about them than they should. Go with your instinct."
