Two thirds of schoolchildren at Quay Academy in Bridlington are either in poverty or extremely disadvantaged.
Pupils there are the most socially deprived not only in the town but across the whole of the East Riding too.
Vikki Craven is the Assistant Principal and lead for inclusion and safeguarding.
She said: "Our pupils are the most socially deprived pupils not only within Bridlington but also in the East Riding a whole, so 63 percent of our pupils fall into that bracket of being disadvantaged which is phenomenal.
"We want to provide the same opportunities for all of our children. We know that education is a way of kind of breaking the cycle of deprivation because we want to give our children the best opportunities, provide them with rich environment to learn from and a chance to be successful.
"Through the pandemic weren't going to Spain, they were going to Bridlington or Scarborough. I would like to see more responsibility from the people who are making the money from that. They're the people that are employing our families so it would be nice that it was looked at holistically from all members of society and community.
"It's more about giving somebody or a family a bag of food, it's about signposting them to offers of support because actually parents have to bring children to school. I've already thought we could have job adverts, we could help these families fill our CVs and application forms etc."
