Former The Beautiful South and Housemartins singer Paul Heaton has announced his return to Scarborough this summer.

He'll play the Open Air Theatre on the 1st July with support from the Lightening Seeds.

The show will also feature special guest singers, with Heaton's long-time collaborator Jacqui Abbott advised not to tour on health grounds.

Scarborough OAT venue programmer Peter Taylor said: “We get lots of requests from people telling us who they would like to see here at Scarborough OAT and Paul Heaton remains top of many wish lists.

“He was part of one of the most successful ever British groups and he is adored by fans across the UK and beyond. His wonderful live shows are packed with songs everyone knows and loves.

“Paul’s show here in 2016 was truly magical and I’m sure his eagerly-awaited return, together with support from The Lightning Seeds, will be one of the most popular nights at Scarborough OAT this summer!”

Tickets go on sale on Friday April 28th at 09:30am.
