Ofsted have returned to giving inspections after a delay due to Covid, with the organisation saying just how important they are.
The ratings given so far for places of education in our area so far are
In the East Riding of Yorkshire 123 primary and 18 secondary schools were inspected.
Emma Ing the Ofsted North East, Yorkshire & Humber Director says inspections ensure students are gaining as much as possible while at school.
“Children in the Yorkshire & Humber and across the country have missed out on so much as a result of restrictions and stop and start of lockdowns.
“To protect older generations, we have asked the youngest generation to put their lives and education on hold. So, it’s really important that we redress the balance and make every effort to ensure children are able to regain a sense of normality in their lives and remain at school. After all, children only get one chance at school.
“Our return to inspections this term will help parents, government and the wider public understand how schools are managing the current situation and helping children catch up. It will allow schools that are delivering a really good education to get the recognition that they deserve.”
