Northallerton shot putter gearing up for Olympics

Scott Lincoln will take part in qualifying tonight

Northallerton's Scott Lincoln says he "can't wait" to compete in the Olympics tonight.

He's representing Team GB in the shot put. He's aiming for a high finish:

"I'm in great shape this year so I'm just excited to go out there and see what I can do, heading towards that final hopefully, that's the main aim, to get into the final to start with and as close to the top five finish as possible."

"North Yorkshire has been really supportive, even just walking through the streets, there is people wishing me well for the Olympics, it's just brilliant. Obviously all the media getting on it too, it's just a great time of year to showcase the Olympics and obviously what we're up to so yeah it's brilliant."

North Yorkshire's Jack laugher is also in action today. He competes in Men's Synchronized 3m Springboard which gets underway at 10o'clock this morning.
