New Coronavirus infections in Scarborough fall again
49 cases have been recorded across the borough in the last 24 hours.
Scarborough has recorded 49 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, new figures have revealed.
The borough’s infection rate per 100,000 population, on a seven-day average, now stands at 457 as of November 15, having reached more than 600 last week.
Scarborough’s rate remains ahead of every other North Yorkshire district and also the average for England, which is 263, but it has been falling steadily for the last six days.
Filey and Hunmaby remains the worst affected area currently, with 71 infections in the week leading up to November 13.
The Esk Valley and Runswick Coast ward is next with 61, followed by Scarborough Central with 54.
The borough’s overall total number of cases since the start of the pandemic is now 2.519.
Mobile testing sites will be visiting the borough this week.
It will be at Whitby’s park and ride site on Guisborough Road today and at the Country Park in Filey tomorrow.
Scarborough’s walk-in testing site at the William Street Coach Park is also open seven days a week, from 8am until 8pm.
