There are plans for a new cinema in Scarborough's Brunswick Centre, where Debenhams used to be.

That comes from the company who's just bought it.

Scarborough Group International is the new owner of the Centre.

We've been speaking to Scott McCabe, who#s its Director.

He said:

""I think it's very likely. Because obviously of the nature of cinemas and what you've need to do structurally to building to accommodate cinemas, it's probably up to two years, It'll take a lot of time, planning and expense preparing that part of the building."

He's also outlined other plans for the future:

"We are looking at other options as well, that will perhaps add restaurants or the like to the Centre, so it becomes not just a retail destination, but a retail and leisure destination for the town."
