Humberside Police is looking for 100 Special Constables.

The force is recruiting for volunteers who work alongside regular officers.

You need to be at least 18 and pass a fitness test and medical.

John Philip, Special Constabulary Chief Officer, said:

"A Special Constable is a police constable. It's a warranted officer but they do it on voluntary basis and a part-time basis so Specials will have other jobs outside of policing and they come to do their policing in their own time unpaid, but they have the full power of a regular police constable.

"We're looking for people who have a whole heap of common sense to be honest. It can be a very testing and stressful role and you've certainly got to be committed to it. If you were to join in July, you would be doing classroom training 26 weekend days of your time, which wouldn't finish until July next year."
