More lifeguards wanted to patrol beaches in the East Riding
It's to keep people safe this Summer
The RNLI is appealing for more lifeguards to patrol the beaches from Bridlington to Withernsea.
The charity says the next fitness test is on Sunday 10th July at Bridlington swimming pool at 8am with training starting Thursday 14th July, with the lifeguarding roles covering the period between Saturday 23rd July until Sunday 4th September.
Last year the RNLI's lifeguards, who cover over 240 beaches across the UK and Channel Islands, saw more than 20 million people visit a lifeguarded beach – the highest number recorded since the RNLI started its lifeguard patrols in 2001.
Now the charity wants to hear from potential lifesavers who can play a vital role this summer by keeping people safe while they enjoy the beaches of Bridlington to Withernsea.
Regional Lifeguard Lead, Carl Harris, said: "Lifeguarding is a very rewarding role and could be a great career choice for you, or someone you know. You’ll get lots of training opportunities and transferrable skills which can lead to other exciting roles! There are plenty of people who can kickstart their career through lifeguarding.
"If you enjoy working in a challenging environment, thrive under pressure and like helping others, this is the job for you."
