More volunteers are wanted to help a charity which runs services in Scarborough, Whitby and Filey.

Age UK is looking for people to assist and support those in need during the pandemic.

Julie Macey-Hewitt, Chief Executive of the charity for Scarborough and District, said:

"We always need volunteers and with the new normal coming, we're going to need volunteers to help people get out and about again.

"We're open to anybody over the age of 18, anyone who's wanting to get some extra experience, has a bit of time on their hands and is able to offer us that help.

"Volunteers will help take people shopping, we're also looking for any volunteers who might want to run any activities for us; so might want to run a walking group, maybe some yoga or some craft activities, It could be face-to-face or virtually, depending on where we are with the lockdown route.

"If people are able to spare the same amount of time each week, that would be useful but it's certainly isn't a requirement. If someone can do an ad hoc couple of hours, that would be fantastic."
