There is set to be more communication from the people behind the Yorkshire Coast D-BID.

It is to try and improve its relationship with its levy payers in order to keep them informed.

It is as the company is planning a number of events for Christmas and next year.

Kerry Carruthers, Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Coast D-BID company, said:

"There are a lot of things that we do behind the scenes and it's now getting to the point of how we basically go about reporting that, which isn't going to be overly lengthy because we have a lot of different projects running right throughout the entire area.

"With every single project that's put out we're highlighting what is the big benefit and making sure that it's the BID community that's accessing this first and foremost; and to build on testimonials relating to the activity that we've delivered.

"There still needs to be more and there needs to be more frequency; but this is part of the reasons why we've adopted social channels to be able to do that but they are new, they are from September.

"There has to be a balance because I don't want to do is spend 90% of my time writing blogs and emails rather than picking up the phone and speaking to a business; because that's where the quality of the actual feedback comes from areas, but it will be constantly reviewed and looked at.

"One thing that BIDs do in clearly in other destination areas is they will put out along with their annual statements, basically a report that says 'you have received x amount through promotional activity, x amount through savings and x amount through events and appearance initiatives.'"
