We are hearing mixed views whether students on the Yorkshire Coast heading to university are worried about the cost of living.

A report suggests people have decided to live at home whilst studying or not go on to further education entirely.

These students at Scarborough Sixth Form College who are heading to university said: "It's not a particular problem for me but I can see why people would think so. I suppose university isn't for everyone."

"In terms of cost of living stuff, I think it's actually a very affordable option because you live with the university for all three years, so I don't have to rent privately."

"I'm a little bit worried because the prices of accommodation has been going up and then food going up, it's about trying to figure out how much can I save to balance my money and make sure I don't run out at any point. If I manage to get through A-Levels whilst holding down a job, I'm pretty sure I can do uni whilst holding down a job as well."

"I'm sort of worried because I'm not used to budgeting for myself but I'm thinking positively so I think it'll be fine. I know it's a lot more difficult especially in Edinburgh as it's quite an expensive city."

"I've not had any worries. I have my mum to support me and we're going to go from there and see how it goes."
