Man rescued from Scarborough house fire

A man's been rescued and given medical attention after a house fire in Scarborough.

Crews from Scarborough, Filey and Robin Hood's Bay were called to Victoria Park Avenue at about 11:30 yesterday morning (October 16)

The man, in his early 20s, was led to safety. One room of the property was badly damaged.

He was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene and was later taken to hospital for further treatment.

Fire crews used a large fan to remove smoke still inside the property. Its believed the blaze started accidentally.
