Man found dead after woman seriously injured near York
Officers believe the pair knew each other and that there was no wider risk to the public

A woman has been seriously injured after an assault in the village of Naburn near York.
North Yorkshire Police say they were called at around 5.50pm on Monday (11 August) after reports of an attack at a house.
The woman was treated at the scene for a serious head injury before being airlifted to hospital. On Tuesday afternoon (11th August) Police issued an update to say the woman who suffered serious injuries remains in hospital in a stable condition.
A search for the suspect led officers to a nearby playpark, where the body of a man was found.
Police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with his death.
Officers believe the pair knew each other and that there was no wider risk to the public.
They are also appealing for information to help trace a beige-coloured whippet dog that ran off during the incident.
