Malton teen charged with multiple offences including racially aggravated assault

Flintham has been released on conditional court bail

A 19-year-old man has appeared in court charged with a series of racially aggravated offences and assaults in Norton and Scarborough.

Ryan Damien Flintham, of Malton, appeared before York Magistrates’ Court yesterday (5 November).

He faces multiple charges, including:

  • Two counts of racially aggravated intentional harassment (2 and 3 November, Norton)
  • Racially aggravated common assault (2 November, Norton)
  • Racially aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm (3 November, Norton)
  • Affray (3 November, Norton)
  • Theft of a bicycle (2 November, Norton)
  • Common assault on an emergency worker (3 November, Scarborough)
  • Assault by beating of an emergency worker (3 November, Scarborough)
  • Threatening or abusive behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress (3 November, Scarborough)
  • Arson on a council-owned tree (3 November, Norton)

Flintham has been released on conditional court bail and is due to appear at York Crown Court on 8 December 2025.

In a statement police said: "if you are a victim of hate crime or you have information that could help protect others, please make a report".
