Latest Coronavirus information for Hull and East Riding
The figures are accurate as of yesterday.
A further 1,710 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus across Hull and East Yorkshire, as of yesterday (Wednesday, January 5).
The Government’s latest rolling figures show the number of infections recorded across the region was 4,265 for Hull and 5,311 in the East Riding in the seven days up to Friday, December 31, the latest with weekly data available.
Data also showed there were 11,549 confirmed Omicron cases in Yorkshire and Humber, up by 727 in one day, with a further 59,909 probable cases being tested as of Friday, December 31.
The figures come as Prime Minister Boris Johnson told MPs the UK was currently seeing the fastest growth in coronavirus cases to date, with 218,000 recorded yesterday.
Mr Johnson added that anyone testing positive for coronavirus on a lateral flow test should self-isolate immediately, rather than getting a further PCR test from Tuesday, January 11.
