There is an appeal to raise money for 40 school pupils in Bridlington to help them with home learning.

Headlands School says some of its students do not have access to a device to access the five hours of live online lessons on offer each day.

It has set up a Just Giving page for any donations and would also welcome any unused laptops or tablets.

David Stamper, Assistant Head of Headlands School, said:

"We spent £30,000 on devices out of our own money and the Covid cost is getting close to £140,000. So far we've received £865 back from the Department for Education. They have helped supply us with 110 devices but we have got 236 free school meal students.

"For students being able to see that friendly face that they'd normally see in the daytime and also being able to communicate is really important. It also means we can cover safeguarding and we can ensure that all students are still safe because we can see them. The live element is really important."

David has been speaking to Greatest Hits Radio's Jon Burke:

If anyone would like to donate any unused devices like laptops or tablets, then please contact the school using admin@headlandsschool.co.uk and they will arrange a safe delivery or collection.

Anyone who wishes to donate can do so on their Just Giving page here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/headlandsitsupport
