Scarborough Athletic boss Jono Greening has ruled himself out of a move to York City after the National League dramatically sacked John Askey.

Greening, who has taken the Seadogs into the National League North, has criticised the way Askey was sakced.

In a tweet on Thursday, he said "why would I go to a club that treats a well respected manager like JA the way York City have."

York have appointed youth team coach Tim Ryan as interim boss and hope to name a permanent manager by the end of the month.
