Investigation's into Scarborough hotel continue
It's still not clear how the fire at the Marine Residence started
Fire investigators will, today, return to the scene of a disused North Yorkshire hotel that's been gutted by fire.
A blaze broke out at the Marine Residence in Scarborough on Sunday morning (16 July, 2023).
At its height 50 firefighters were called to the scene, tasked with tackling the flames.
It's now out but it's not clear what started it.
The the structure of the property is unsafe.
A cordon remains in place to protect members of the public and the road is also closed.
At this time the cause of the fire is undetermined.
Due to the unsafe structure of the building, fire investigators cannot enter the remains of the property until it is safe to do so.
