People in Bridlington and the East Riding are being reminded that they will be fined if they blatantly break Covid-19 rules.
It is as Humberside Police issued 54 fixed penalty notices across its force area over the weekend.
Paul Anderson, Assistant Chief Constable, said:
"Much of our work was engaging, looking at the seaside spots, and looking at places where people would gather. We've put a visible police presence there in order to deter people and to say 'look, if you're going to come here, you are going to get challenged.
"We have had examples of people coming fairly great distances to visit the seaside; and when we've found those people, they have been dealt with and that's not a minor infringement, you'd be getting a ticket for something like that.
"The vast majority of people adhere to the rules and they have throughout all of this. However, there have been some people as time has gone on, and as this weekend has just shown, that don't make good choices and fundamentally I just don't understand why because it puts people in danger.
"Our main priority throughout the entire pandemic is, and always has been, to protect residents and communities. This is a national pandemic. The danger hasn't gone away. I find it flabegasting that people make choices which puts both themselves, their families and other people at risk.
"What the public can expect to see from us is an increase in police presence and they can expect when we see people committing infringements of the law, we will talk to them, advise them not to if they're minor infringements. However, if people are going to baltnatly not follow our advice and put other people in danger, then they can expect to be dealt with."
