Humberside Police to deploy more officers this weekend
Police officers will patrol Bridlington and the East Riding after lockdown restrictions eased earlier this week.
Humberside Police say they're upping patrols in hotspot areas and will use enforcement action if they need to.
It’s as we head into first weekend since lockdown restrictions eased.
Chief Superintendent Darren Downs, Humberside Police, said:
“There will be extra resources available for us for this weekend in case there are any increase demand.
“We will have officers and staff out and about all weekend, if you want to come and tell us anything please do.”
The force has said so far this week the majority of us have been sticking to the rules and they want that to continue.
Darren added:
“The majority of the public are still following the guidelines and people want to stay out of lockdown so I think so people are being more sensible.
“Stick to the guidelines, keep 2m apart and be respectful to others because it will be busy I’m sure.
“If there are breaches of the regulations then we will deal with them to make sure the public are safe but that will be our last resort. Our aim is to be as visible as possible and engage with our communities."
