As lockdown restrictions ease, Humberside Police is clamping down on knife crime.

It’s all part of their latest effort to tackle the issue through Operation Sceptre, which aims to reduce the number of young people carrying a weapon.

On Monday, 26 April, a 27-year-old woman was charged with murder, after Adam Krozolinowski was found with stab wounds outside a property on Freeman Street, Grimsby shortly before 8:15pm on Saturday 24 April.

Superintendent Marc Adams is leading Op Sceptre in Humberside Police said,

“The dangers of knife crime as a nation remain very real and prevalent.

“This past weekend alone we saw a man in Grimsby lose his life through fatal injuries sustained through the use of a knife and elsewhere locally we have seen a number of recent serious incidents in which knives have played a role and caused some significant injuries.

“A weapon’s surrender will again be available with ‘knife bins’ at a number of police stations. The stations with knife ‘bins’ are at Beverley, Bridlington, Clough Road, Goole, Osborne Street, Grimsby, Scunthorpe.

“Our officers will be conducting weapons sweeps and doing proactive patrols across our Force area along with continued educational messages to young people about the dangers of carrying knives.

If you have concerns about someone you know carrying a knife or need to speak to someone about knife crime call our non-emergency number 101.
