Humberside Police says it's been a positive Christmas in Bridlington.

The force has been updating us on how the festive period has been for its officers.

The big worry was people breaking coronavirus rules.

The force says there's been a drop in the number of people who've been punished for breaking coronavirus rules.

It says it's about more than just enforcement alone.

Assistant Chief Constable, Paul Anderson, said:

"Certainly with Bridlington and some of the seaside locations, initially, when we started, there was a lot of concern and there were people seen travelling over and coming to the beaches for the day.

I know that caused a lot of anxiety, but this now appears to be a diminishing trend."

He also wants people to be careful tonight. not to mix households and remember not to drive in the morning if they've drunk too much tonight.
