Humberside Police urges public to remain vigilant a week after rules lift
It says the majority enjoyed the relaxations in a safe and responsible way.
Humberside Police says the majority of the public 'enjoyed the lifting of restrictions' in a safe and responsible way.
The force has issued a statement a week after the relaxation of rules came into effect across England.
Humberside Police Detective Chief Superintendent Phill Ward said:
“This weekend saw our night time economy return, with bars, clubs and other social spaces opening fully for people to enjoy themselves after a testing year and a half.
“I am pleased to report that the majority of members of the public enjoyed the lifting of restrictions and the facilities within our region in a safe and responsible way.
“We had additional officers out and about patrolling key areas throughout the weekend, whilst talking to members of the public along the way.
“As we enter into the transitional period, our additional staff, officers and resources will remain on hand to accommodate the likely increase in demand for service.
“As always, we are asking for people to act and drink responsibly and to remain vigilant.
“We are here when you need us.”
