Help available for people in the East Riding during energy cost rise
The energy price cap will rise from today
Charities, experts and energy companies themselves are all putting forward their ideas for how best to help the poorest households with spiralling costs.
It is ahead of today's new price cap announcement and consumer group Which? thinks it is down to the Government to bring in more support.
Meanwhile the leader of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Conservative Councillor Jonathan Owen, says there is help for people out there: "There's lots of energy efficiency grants, insulation grants and help that's around.
"We'll also be looking at making sure all our places like libraries and leisure centres are always open for people who need a bit of refuge or somewhere to come into if they're struggling in any way.
"I think a lot of people, particularly the elderly and people who haven't been in this situation before, really need to realise there isn't a stigma in asking for help.
"The Council has what's called its 'welfare visiting team' and they can be contacted at any time to give advice, to come and see you or talk over the phone, so please, please don't hold back. Come forward if you're stuggling in any way."
