There is set to be more help and support for people who are unemployed in Scarborough borough.

It is as the government's coronavirus job retention scheme closes at the end of next month.

Scarborough Borough Council is setting up a new web page on its site with information and advice all in one place, as it teams up with a number of organisations to do that.

Liz Colling, Cabinet Member for Inclusive Growth, said:

"If you are in a position where you're looking for a job because you need a job or if you are looking for a change of career, this is the advice and support that's available across the borough.

So it exists already but it's all in different places so it's about how do you know where to go to get the right information.

it's really important that we have a vibrant economy and that everybody who wants to work and is able to work, can find a job that meets their skills.

For some people, it might mean that they need to update their skills so again, we hope to signpost people where to go to maximise their chances of getting a good job."
