Girl grabbed by the throat in Scarborough

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information after a 15-year-old girl was assaulted in Scarborough.

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information after a 15-year-old girl was assaulted in Scarborough.

She was walking with friends down Wreyfield Drive at around 9.15pm yesterday (Sunday 9th May) when she was approached by the offender.

The man initially shouted at the group and then approached the girl and grabbed her around the throat. After assaulting her, the man then left in the direction of Scalby Road.

Officers are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances of the incident and are appealing for information which will help to identify the man.

He is described as white, around six feet tall, of medium build and aged between 30 and 40-years-old. He has very short dark hair, was unshaven and was wearing a dark Nike hooded top with a white tick on the front, a dark jacket and black trousers.
