People in Bridlington are being asked to help towards providing food parcels to those in need.

The Hinge Centre's looking for donations of ambient products or money.

Megan Robinson, Deputy Manager, said:

"It could be tins, jars, pasta, cereal, long life milk and we do accept toiletries as well.

"It means such a lot. We do have a supermarket trolley actually in Morrisons in Bridlington so you can collect items and pop them in to that trolley whilst you're there. I mean we appreciate the donations that we achieve and those who we distribute to are always so grateful.

"We do rely heavily on donations for the food parcels to enable us to provide that service. We have been able to apply for a few small pots of funding during Covid but with the demand at that certain time, we got the money in and then it was spent within two to three weeks.

"I think over the last week we've seen how local businesses and people have come together inthe community to help one another. So I think it would be to sort of just encourage to help and donate if you can, even if it's just one tin it goes such a long way."

Anyone who wishes to donate food items can also drop them off at The Hinge Centre on 19-21 Field Road in Bridlington, YO16 4AU. If anyone would like to donate money via bank transfer, you can do so by contacting the charity on 01262 679671 or email: info@thehinge.org.uk
