A number of flood warnings have been issued by the Environment Agency in a string of places along the Yorkshire Coast.

They're concerned about overtopping waves and spray from the sea at high tide.

One of the warnings covers Scarborough's North Bay promenade, where flooding of the road and property is possible, particularly between 2pm and 5pm this afternoon. People are being urged to stay away from seafront areas.

There's also a similar warning in force for the Harbour Road and Floral Pavilion areas on Bridlington's North Promenade, where officials are particularly concerned about overtopping between midday and 6pm.

Meanwhile, warnings issued earlier for Sandsend and the River Esk at Ruswarp are no longer in force, although these areas are still covered by lower-level 'flood alerts'.
