Wildfire crews are still tackling a blaze at Langdale and a number of roads remain closed this morning.
Firefighters have been tackling flare ups over the weekend at the wildfire site near May Beck in North Yorkshire.
Twelve crews have been working since yesterday (31 August) after rising temperatures and stronger winds caused the fire to spark back into life inside the contained area.
Officials say the peat is still burning beneath the surface, which means hotspots will keep appearing and could look more dramatic after dark.
People are being warned to expect smoke in nearby communities, especially with rain and changing weather conditions bringing it lower to the ground.
Anyone affected is urged to keep doors and windows closed and to check in on vulnerable neighbours.
Road closures remain in place around the scene and the fire service is asking people not to ignore them, stressing they are there to keep both the public and emergency workers safe.
