They're asking Scarborough Borough Council for permission
The Filey Playing Fields Association has applied for a licence to serve alcohol and host live music performances at premises on Padbury Drive, Filey.
An application seeking permission to serve alcohol and host various types of performances at a new premises in Filey has been submitted to Scarborough Council for consideration.
Submitted by the Filey Playing Fields Association, the request for the granting of a premises licence concerns what would be known as the Sports Pavilion.
If approved without changes, the Sports Pavilion would be allowed to serve alcohol on the premises seven days a week.
The requested hours of serving alcohol range from Sunday to Thursday between 10am and 11pm, and Friday to Saturday between 10am and midnight.
The application also seeks permission to host the exhibition of films, indoor sporting events, live music performances, any playing of recorded music as well as dance performances.
The permitted hours of the “regulated entertainment” would be during the same hours as have been requested for serving alcohol.
However, Filey Playing Fields Association has also requested permission to serve “late night refreshments” on Fridays and Saturdays between 11pm and half past midnight.
“The premises shall operate as a sports and social club and sale of alcohol will be ancillary to this,” according to conditions set out in annexe two of the regulations concerning the application.
It is possible that the licensing authority or the council’s licensing sub-committee will make alternate recommendations or set conditions for approval of the plans.
There is currently a public consultation on the plan and those wishing to make their views known should email licensing.services@scarborough.gov.uk no later than 24 August.
Representations can also be sent to the Town Hall offices in Scarborough.
