Filey's MP says Yorkshire coast residents need to carry on taking precautions during coronavirus.

Kevin Hollinrake admits it is easy to let social distancing and the wearing of face masks slip, especially in an area where there are fewer cases.

He is warning people need to do the right things to keep it that way.

Kevin said:

"I think people get a bit complacent particularly in area like North Yorkshire where we're seeing a very, very low incidence.

It's the responsibility of all of us to make sure that we are continuing to be vigilant.

The last thing anybody wants in North Yorkshire is to go into local lockdown.

That will hit our freedoms and our businesses very hard so we've got to be careful and maintain our discipline and we've been very, very disciplined this far.

I think genuinely people are doing the right thing but it's important we continue to do that or we'll suffer the consequences."
