The MP for Filey says we should not worry about getting the AstraZeneca vaccine.

It is as trials for children have been suspended after reports of a rare form of blood clots in adults.

Kevin Hollinrake said:

"People should absolutely have the jab. I've had mine and 18 million other people have as well and the incidence of health issues has been absolutely tiny, so despite the fact that I think 30 people have had blood clots, I think a high percentage of them would have had them anyway.

"Clearly the scientists need to see the ethicacy of the vaccine on all types of different populations but what we're talking about here at the moment is people who are over 50 egtting the vaccinations. There's no question about it if you want to get ill, don't get the vaccine. If you want to stay safe, get the vaccine."

Kevin also says he supports the idea of a Covid passport if it benefits businesses and the economy.

He added:

"My view is the economy has to come first before ideology. We've seen over the last year a lot of businesses have been in dire straits due to restrictions that have had to be imposed upon them, and that's caused problems for businesses and for the people who work in those businesses for jobs.

"You either have to have the vaccine or you have to prove you've had a negative test or you prove you've had Covid-19 within the last six months so it's not compulsory vaccination at all.

"It's a choice. If people feel they would rather not have a vaccination well that's their choice. Then people have another choice to make, if they want to go to the pub, then take a simple lateral flow test which takes a few minutes to prove that they've not got the virus and the thing that keeps us all safe. I don't see what the problem is."
