Eastfield's Community Free Fridge is appealing for donations and volunteers.

Staff there say the food gets taken very quickly, especially during the cost of living crisis.

It is urging supermarkets, organisations and businesses to help with restocking.

Rachel Calvert, Vice-Chair of Eastfield Community Free Fridge, said: "We'll take absolutely anything. We collect a lot from Marks and Spencer' Fareshare, Morrisons and we're looking for local businesses to start contributing as well to put back into the local community.

"We need volunteers as we have collections to pick up the donations, we have people to run the free fridge, clerical work and just anything that people can offer us."

Jim Bullock, Treasurer, said: "I think pretty much every day of the week somebody from here is going out to local shops collecting bits and pieces, but we get a large share of our delivery from Fareshare.

"People who give £500 or £1,000 just to keep us going and we rely on people and the generosity of the supermarkets who don't have to supply us. We're grateful and we'll continue going for as long as we can continue going."
