East Riding residents urged to be prepared for Christmas and New Year
A reminder is being issued on which NHS services will be available
East Riding residents are encouraged to ensure they are prepared for the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays and reminded which NHS services will be available.
Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC), out of hours GP services and some pharmacies will remain open. However, GP practices and most pharmacies will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Some pharmacies will be open over the festive period to ensure you can access services if necessary. You can find out which pharmacies are open near you this Christmas by visiting this website.
If you need to access GP services in the East Riding over the festive season, contact The Improving Access service on 01482 458262, open Friday 6.30am-8pm, Saturday and Sunday 8.30am-12.30pm
For urgent medical advice, please use the NHS 111 online service (http://111.nhs.uk). If you cannot get online, call 111.
UTCs can treat minor ailments such as cuts, burns and suspected fractures, with no appointment necessary. Find out more about East Riding UTCs by visiting https://www.eastridingofyorkshireccg.nhs.uk/choose-well/utc/

The NHS is prioritising bookings for Covid-19 vaccination boosters and is urging people to book an appointment to guarantee their jab - as it aims to offer every eligible adult their booster dose by the end of December 2021.
Attend a walk-in clinic or book online at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ or by ringing 119. The national booking site shows good availability for late evenings and weekends, along with daytime appointments.
NHS East Riding of Yorkshire CCG would like to remind people that the offer remains open to anyone who has not yet come forward for their first or second dose Covid-19 vaccination.
East Riding of Yorkshire CCG wants to thank local NHS services for their continued support during this difficult and challenging time.
