People in the East Riding are being encouraged to look after their hearts.

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust is issuing a reminder of what it can offer to help reduce the risks of heart-related conditions.

It iswanting people to stay informed by using its 'Your Health' service as February is national 'Healthy Heart' month.

The Trust’s Your Health service believes that everyone should have the opportunity to seek support for their health and wellbeing.

If you are an adult in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire, who is looking for advice and guidance on how to improve your health and wellbeing, there are teams in your local community who are ready to support you.

Offering one-to-one motivation and advice-based sessions, the team are here to support you with:

• Weight management

• Nutrition

• Alcohol reduction

• Emotional wellbeing

• Welfare

• Smoking cessation

• Loneliness

Also, if you are aged 40-75 and living in the area, you may be entitled to a free NHS Health Check.

The Trust says they know that the risk of developing heart disease, type two diabetes, kidney disease and dementia increase with age. The free Health Check takes only 30 minutes, you will be asked some questions about family history and lifestyle choices, they will take your blood pressure and cholesterol also.
