East Riding health bosses urge people to record Covid results
They say it's one of the reasons why cases are going down because people aren't recording results
We are hearing some people who test positive for coronavirus in the East Riding are not recording their results with the government, according to health bosses.
It comes as the number of cases are decreasing across the county.
Zoe Stevens, public health nurses consultant at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said:
"Because people know restrictions have been eased, they feel a bit more relaxed about things, and I think sometimes people are just genuinely busy and maybe forget to record a positive result. And we know that the isolation period was reduced. And so I think people just think, oh, I've got a positive result. Just need to isolate and it's actually really important that we still know about those numbers of cases for us to enable an accurate, collation of that data. So we would still remind people if you do get a positive result that you record it."
Yesterday, the authority's public health lead welcomed a fall in coronavirus cases locally but warned there were still too many.
