East Riding of Yorkshire Council announces bin collection schedule

East Riding of Yorkshire Council has announced its Christmas and New Year schedule for bin collections.

East Riding Council has announced its Christmas and New Year schedule for bin collections.

Rubbish collections in the East Riding are set to enter a Christmas schedule with normal schedules resuming on Monday, January 11.

The council stated residents should look out for a calendar with the altered dates which is set to be posted to East Riding households.

Residents can look up collection dates for their area by visiting: https://www.eastriding.gov.uk/environment/bins-rubbish-recycling/bins-and-collections/bin-collection-dates/.

Separately, East Riding Council’s waste and recycling service has been awarded Service Team of the Year for the second year running by the Association for Public Service Excellence (ASPE).

Council leader Richard Burton said:

“I would like to offer my congratulations to the waste and recycling team who consistently prove they are the best in the country as well as those other service teams who were APSE finalists.”

A spokesperson for East Riding Council said on the altered timetable:

“All your bin collections will change over Christmas, look out for your calendar in the post.

“You can also view bin collection dates online or sign up to the council’s free text reminder service.

“Information on how to sign up can be found on your new calendar.

“Normal collections resume Monday 11 January 2021.

“Your local Household Waste and Recycling Site will be open 10am-5pm as usual, but will close at 4pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve and all day on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.”
