Scarborough Athletic to face Bridlington Town in memorial match
It's Boro's first game under new manager Jono Greening
Scarborough Athletic and Bridlington Town fans will be able to see their teams go head-to-head tonight (13 July), in a memorial match.
The Dave Holland Trophy takes place to remember the former Scarborough Athletic chairman.
It's new Boro boss Jono Greening's first game in charge at the Flamingo Land Stadium, and will have the largest crowd there since before Covid.
Kick-off is at 7.45pm.
Scarborough Athletic chairman Trevor Bull said: "We haven't had a live football match to watch in Scarborough since October last year. We've had 9 months of no football at all.
"It forms two things, to remember Dave, but also to thank Bridlington, and Pete Smurthwaite, the chairman there, for all the help they gave us when we first formed the club. We played there for ten years.
"When they were our landlords, we had some great games in the FA Cup, and league games, and big attendances. It was absolutely fantastic, so there's no animosity between the clubs, there's proper rivalry!
"Even the players who played for us last year, the maximum capacity we were allowed was 600. That's up to 950 now, so we've got plenty of room for everybody. Come on down and cheer us to victory!"
