Crews continue to tackle moorland fire as roads reopen
Crews say isolated flare-ups are still happening
Firefighters are continuing to keep a large moorland blaze under control, with 8 appliances on site working through the night.
Crews say isolated flare-ups are still happening but all remain within the contained boundary.
The A171 and B1416 have now reopened, but temporary road safety measures are in place.
Drivers are being urged to stick to 30mph speed limits, not stop in laybys, and avoid pulling over to take photos as the fire is ongoing.
Car parks at Falling Foss and May Beck in Sneaton Forest remain closed while crews operate in the area.
Increased smoke is also likely in low-lying spots, particularly around Whitby, and people are advised to keep doors and windows shut in line with public health guidance.
