Crawfest music festival to return in honour of Scarborough NHS worker
The two-day event will be held at Partings Farm in Ebberston in July this year
A two-day music festival near Scarborough has been arranged to celebrate the life of an NHS worker who died with Coronavirus.
'Crawfest' is being held at Partings Farm in Ebberston in tribute to Alan Crawford.
It takes place on Friday the 22nd and Saturday the 23rd of July.
Ollie Lord, who is a paramedic in Scarborough, was Alan's friend and colleague.
He said: "He was an emergency medical technician so he worked on an ambulance with a crewmate. In 2020 sadly he contracted Covid whilst in the line of duty and after a long battle, he was treated on the intensive care unit at Scarborough Hospital and he sadly lost his life to Covid.
"This year it's held over two days. Last year, our first Crawfest was held over one day, and it's a family friendly festival that puts on great live music, has stuff to keep your kids entertained and the main focus of the event would be the live music.
"Alan loved music. It was his second passion, his first passion was his family and I thought what fitting way to pay tribute to the man really. When he died, because of all the restrictions that were in place, sadly we couldn't give him the send off we wanted to give him.
"We've got a band called Red Box who were a band that were quite popular in the 80s. They've had a couple of hits that people will know but they were Alan's favourite band. I've been speaking to Simon who's the lead singer and they've kindly agreed to come up and do an acoustic set on Saturday, so Red Box are coming."
