Residents in the borough of Scarborough are being reminded to be vigilant when it comes to Coronavirus.

It's as the area's still marked as a concern on the Government's Covid-19 watchlist.

Dr Lincoln Sargeant, Director of Public Health in North Yorkshire, said:

"I think for Scarborough that's allowed us to co-ordinate some actions and I think given all the challenges with testing, that the rates there appear at least to be stable.

They don't appear to be increasing in quite the way that they were at the beginning of September.

Across North Yorkshire, the background infection rates have been increasing and therefore wherever you are in the county, whether on a formal watchlist or not, I think we have to assume that the risk levels are elevated and so people need to be vigilant."
