Firefighters were called out to tackle a chip pan blaze at a house in Scarborough on Friday evening.
It broke out at around 5.40pm at a property in Eastfield.
The kitchen was fire damaged and the whole house suffered smoke damage.
Crews successfully extinguished the blaze and ventilated the property.
The occupant was checked over at the scene by paramedics.
