Children's outdoor sport on Yorkshire Coast won't be allowed for a month
Children's outdoor sport in the Borough of Scarborough won't be allowed to continue for the next month.
Children's outdoor sport in the Borough of Scarborough won't be allowed to continue for the next month.
As lockdown two begins today, young people will only be allowed to exercise with their own household and support bubble.
Stuart Carlton from the North Yorkshire Local Resilience Forum said:
"The Government has ordered certain businesses and venues to close; and those include indoor and outdoor leisure facilities, including swimming pools, leisure centres, gyms, soft play facilities and all sorts of things.
"But children are still able to go to school every day. There will be sport in schools still as there normally is and they are able to still go out and exercise but, in compliance with the current lockdown policies and procedures.
"I know when I speak to many children, they want to play their part in keeping people safe and are concerned often for their parents and grandparents; and I'm sure on the whole that those children will understand the need to do this over a month period.
"The guidance around outdoors, exercise or visiting an outdoor public space is very limited.
"It's with the people you live with, your support bubble, when on your own, or with one person from another household."
