Bridlington's 'seacrow' trail starts today
Don't be alarmed to see scarecrows taking over Bridlington as it's part of a new trail
Bridlington's 'seacrow' trail starts today.
Residents were asked to make scarecrows with a seaside theme to place outside their home or in the window.
Now for the next seven days people can follow a trail around the town to see what has been made.
Organiser Maggie Masters said: "It's been absolutely fantastic. It's the first time we've ever done it and obviously scarecrow trails are normally held in villages, so we were a bit worried because Bridlington is so big people would think 'oh it's not worth doing' but we've had 108 entries and I know we're a big town but for something like this, it's brilliant.
"The scarecrows are displayed outside, in windows or hanging outside windows and every entry has an unique number and it's something for the kids to do during the holidays. They can have a walk around and ook at all the amazing scarecrows that people have made.
"We've got a list of everybody's addresses so we've put them into groups of where they live to make it easier for people to walk around. We're also using the app 'What 3 Words' and we've plotted it onto that app so people can download it and follow the app around to see where everybody is.
"A big thank you to everybody who has designed some of these seacrows as they're absolutely fantastic. We've got octopus, divers, mermaids, sandcastles, punch and judy, you name it - everything is covered. The theme this year was 'beside the seaside' and we're looking forward to holding the second one next year."
